My Ballerina!

This past weekend, Emma was in her ballet company's production of the Nutcracker. She was a beautiful dancing firefly! I love watching her dance and (secretly) hope she dances for many years so I have lots more recitals to attend. Maybe she can even teach me a little grace as I always wanted to be able to dance, but can't!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Here are some pictures of the kids trick or treating Halloween night. Emma was Alex from Wizards of Waverly Place, Will was Wolverine, and Landen was Curious George. Landen love Curious George and actually asked if he could be him for Halloween. I think it is quite fitting that he loves George because in so many ways he is a lot like him!

Kaitlyn is 2!

Little Kaitlyn was too cute at her princess birthday party. She kept twirling herself around in her little snow white dress the entire evening and wanted all the other kids to put on a princess dresses too!

THEY SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!

A few years ago Jeff started blasting the Beatles song"They say it's your birthday " on everyones birthday and now it has turned into a tradition that the kids love! No birthday would be complete in our house without the kids singing along and dancing to this song several times in a row and Will's 5th birthday was no different!

Are we having fun?

We decided to take a little trip to the pumpkin patch after Will's birthday party. This may not have been the best timing as the kids were all irritable and whinny! Landen threw a tantrum because he wanted to be the only one to pull the cart full of 3 big and several small pumpkins! Will kept jumping on the pumpkins and threw his own little fit because he wanted a HUGE pumpkin. Jeff kept looking at me and sarcastically saying "This is sooooo much fun". The trip ended with me pulling Landen away from the pumpkin cart kicking and screaming and screaming half of the way home. Even though this trip may not end up as one of our fondest memories for Jeff and I, perhaps the kids will remember it better than us, which is why we do all these "fun" things!

MYTHBUSTERS

For Will's 5th Birthday party, he wanted a Mythbusters party. If you know Jeff, you know this was very exciting for him (he has more than 100 episodes on DVR and will not delete any of them because " you can watch the same episode over and over"). So, Jeff planned the entire party from the invites to all the activities. The kids built a rubberband powered car and later raced their cars. There was a competition to see who could build the biggest tower with toothpicks and marshmellows.

Notice the place cards- Jeff even made those!

Our big winner of the tower contest!

Next we went outside for some explosions.

Jeff also blew up a cupcake, but the video did not come out!

The kids also had a paper airplane contest (they flew their airplanes out our bedroom window) and a paper folding contest. The kids had a lot of fun!
